"It’s okay… I… hum, I have a thick skull."
This is one of my favorite sides of his character development.
In the beginning, even the littlest things she did, he had to criticize. You’re bringing me food and didn’t let me starve? Well you threw it at my face so I can’t forgive you. You tried to save my life? You almost set me on fire while doing it so I’m just going to ignore that.
She touches his head after a 200 foot drop and he yells. Because it hurts. No, it doesn’t matter that I hit my skull exactly in the place that you just touched it. I’m just going to pretend it doesn’t hurt and make sure that you are okay. You’re running me into a pole? Well I’m with you so nothing else matters.
I just love how he grows to love her and her quirks, which is what you do when you start to fall in love with someone.
This is the reason, that even though the story was short, their relationship felt so real. They had to learn how to get used to one another before falling in love.
